PNB announces retirement of group COO, appointment of CIO

PERMODALAN Nasional Bhd (PNB) has announced the retirement of asset management deputy president and group chief operating officer Idris Kechot, effective last Monday, and the appointment of Hanizan Hood as chief investment officer, effective yesterday.

Idris had been with PNB, including its wholly owned unit trust management company Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd, for more than 34 years.

PNB said Hanizan will lead day-to-day operations in the asset management division, comprising the fund management, strategic asset allocation, equity market operation, fixed income, investment analysis and economics departments.

Hanizan, who joined the company in 1996, has served in various capacities in the areas of equity research, money market, fixed income and portfolio management.

An economics graduate of Northwestern University in the US, she also holds a capital market services representative’s licence and recently completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School. – Bernama, January 2, 2019.
