THE approval rating of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his government has dropped rapidly, largely due to the people’s disappointment with the government’s failure to reduce higher cost of living and fulfilling election promises, said PKR’s Rafizi Ramli.
According to opinion polls cited by Rafizi, Dr Mahathir’s approval rating as the prime minister has plunged to 53% in the past six months, down 19% from the 72% approval rating in June.
He added that in some states, the newly elected menteri besar, whom some of the sampled respondents could not name correctly, got a higher approval rating than the prime minister.
“From the first post-GE14 survey until this month’s poll, reducing higher cost of living and fulfilling election promises tops the key concern of the voters across the board.
“After a while, the public is losing patience with what is seen as mere excuses on the part of the PH administration.
“We can’t fulfil all the promises immediately within the 100 days, yet at the very least the PH administration must be seen to be solely focused on laying the groundwork to fulfil them (election promises) at some point in the future,” said Rafizi who heads PKR-linked pollster Invoke Malaysia.
He said people will continue being restless if there are no marked improvement concerning economic livelihood on the ground, warning that in some areas, things did get worse after PH took over.
“The public do not expect a miracle; they expect efforts. They need to see our focus is fixated on making their lives better.
“Instead, more often than not, we give excuses why we could not deliver.
“The only way that is achievable and responsible for forging a united and moderate Malaysia is to focus on our economic platform.
“PH must go back to our election pledges,” he said.
He added that PH must demonstrate seriousness in making life better for ordinary Malaysians.

Honestly !!! PH is losing ground !!! This moron Rafizi polls do not indicate the number of people pollHe does not indicate the breakdown of race and the number. He does not indicate the margin error. I can guarantee the Indians and Chinese are solidly behind PH. The Malays , the smart ones are solidly behind PH.
It is the uneducated and dedak eating Malays who do not understand.
Rafizi , thank god you lost the Vice President post. You are nothing but a shit stirrer. You do not serve any purpose but cause trouble and spew hatred. Your hatred for Mahathir is overcoming your intelligence ( whatever that is left).
The economic will improve when corruption is minimal , just look at Australia. The ICERD move was intelligent to show we can play in the international stage. The fact that the dickheads who attended the rally did not understand it ( based on the interviews) tells us a lot about the uneducated Malays.
So Rafizi , you can go f#*k yourself , you are nothing but a shit stirrer!!!
