FGV sues Isa Samad, ex-CEO over luxury condos

FGV Holdings Bhd has filed a second suit against former chairman Mohd Isa Abdul Samad and former group president and CEO Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah, this time over the purchase of luxury condominiums .

The suit also accuses Emir of abusing the company’s cars and petrol benefits.

FGV Holdings said the luxury condos involved 2 units at the Troika in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, which were purchased “significantly above market value and without proper due diligence”.

The units were also used by Isa and Emir without authorisation, the company said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia dated November 30.

FGV Holdings is seeking a total of RM4.54 million from both defendants over the Troika units, and RM3.15 million from Emir over his misuse of company cars and petrol benefits.

This is the second suit in a week by FGV Holdings against Isa and Emir.

On November 23, the company sued them as well as 12 others for RM514 million over FGV’s acquisition of a 100% stake in Asian Plantations Limited (APL) through a voluntary conditional cash offer in 2014.

Isa was formerly Negri Sembilan menteri besar and an Umno leader.

He has been investigated by the anti-graft authorities over questionable deals, including the purchase of luxury hotels during his tenure as chairman of Felda, FGV as well as Felda Investment Corp (FIC), but has never been charged. – December 1, 2018.
