NO one from the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple was involved in the riot that caused critical injuries to fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, said temple activist S. Ramaji.
The head of the Save Seafield Temple Task Force said temple devotees were in full support of the police and the Fire and Rescue Department doing their duties.
“We are here to support the police and fire department. It’s up to the police to investigate and bring out the truth,” Ramaji told reporters at the lobby of the Subang Jaya Medical Centre this evening.
He and other temple members had gone to visit Adib, who was warded on life support after being attacked by a mob at the temple in the early hours of this morning.
Ramaji said temple members had no clue as to who the perpetrators might be, and that the attack was the doing of irresponsible individuals who wanted to paint a bad image of the temple.
Ramaji’s group today did not get to meet Adib but said they would hold special prayers for his fast recovery.

“We do not know who was involved (in the attack) but since we are involved in the temple, we decided to pay a courtesy visit,” he said.
Ramaji also stressed that the violence should not be racialised and reiterated that there could be people who simply wanted to put the temple in a bad light.
Adib, 24, was dragged from his emergency response vehicle and attacked after he and his team arrived at the scene in response to an emergency call.
The mob was part of a large crowd which had gathered at the temple last night, purportedly to guard it, then proceeded to vandalise parts of the MCT Tower nearby, where the office of the private developer that owns the land is located. – November 27, 2018.
