AFTER being threatened by a group of Umno members in Tapah, the political secretary to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department P. Waytha Moorthy, has lodged a police report.

P. Muniandy lodged the police report yesterday at the Jalan Travers police station over the incident on Monday.

One of the Umno members, who introduced himself as Syed Rizal, stopped Muniandy on Monday at the front gate of SK Datuk Kelana in Tapah after the latter had attended a programme there.

“I was about to leave the school when the Umno man stopped my car. I was going to another programme but he did not allow my car to exit the school,” he said.

Syed Rizal then asked him to get out of the car and told Muniandy not to be afraid.

“He was shouting and intimidating me to get out of the car and not to be afraid. He then said he wanted to pass a memorandum to Waytha.”

Muniandy said as soon as he got out of the car, the man warned him to not speak about Malay rights and Islam.

According to Muniandy, Syed Rizal also spoke about the May 13 racial riots.

“He yelled and asked me not to speak about Islam and Malay rights. He then issued a warning, saying that there is no need to have another May 13 incident.”

The man was referring to Malaysia’s plans to ratify the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

Waytha Moorthy is the minister in charge of Putrajaya’s plan to ratify ICERD to which Umno and PAS are opposed. – November 21, 2018.

  • This is the result of PH pussy footing in UmnoPAS embolden deliverance of challenge and intimidation The political correct behaviour practised by PH government is leading no where and creating fear and no confidence in PH administration. It is logical that only forceful high handed methods employed within the rules of law will only the hard core criminal intent dissidents understand. Do PH have the guts to do so and practise Najib philosophy of "silence to let it ride thru".

  • Where are the rest of the Pakatan MPs and Ministers?? Malaysia Baru...err...Mana ada? Cakap mau pakai Rule of Law; then why are UMNO goons still allowed to behave like goons? Stop paying us lip service. It's bad enough that PH is backtracking from its GE manifesto pledges. It's bad enough that Budget 2019 does nt have much for the middle class.
But to allow the rakyat to continue to be intimidated by samsengs, while our tax ringgit goes to pay govt and ministers' salaries - we shouldn't take it up our chins one more day.

  • Yup the right thing to do. It just shows umno members in positions are of poor quality and are always inclined to be gangster like against other races. If this isnt being racist and a bully, what is?
