Rafizi Ramli has tweeted that he had claimed the post of PKR deputy president from incumbent Azmin Ali, after winning the vote in Malacca and Negri Sembilan today.

RAFIZI Ramli has claimed victory over incumbent Mohamed Azmin Ali in the race for the PKR deputy president’s post after the party ballot in Negri Sembilan and Malacca today.

The vice president in a twitter post tonight said he had had unofficially picked up 52% of the votes cast in eight divisions in Negri Sembilan and had gotten 55% of the votes from the six divisions in Malacca.

“Thank you friends in PKR Negri Sembilan and Malacca – unofficial results show I have won both states. Am still waiting for the final figure to know the actual margin of victory,” he said in his tweet.

Malacca has 23,466 PKR voters while Negri Sembilan counts 36,970 on its rolls.

However, up till now, no result has been posted on the PKR party election website.

It is learnt the party’s election committee (JPP) is facing some technical difficulty in posting the results.

The Malaysian Insight is trying to contact the the JPP for the official results from both states. – October 20, 2018.

  • If true, then good show for Rafizi who started as an outsider. Azmin is doing ok as Minister in the Cabinet & Rafizi can also contribute to PKR's advancement, etc. Instead of being left out in the cold. We need all capable hands on board in new Malaysia. Rafizi appears to have proved himself somewhat..

  • How do Rafizi know that he has won in both states when there is no official news on the final result? I guess he must have login to some special accounts, meddled the data and then declared himself as winner.

    • Yes, agreed. This behaviour of him does not fit that of a good guy.

  • I am beginning to feel very uncomfortable with this Rafizi as our leader.

  • Good if Rafizi can win so that he can help in strengthening the party. He needs a good post in the party to do so. While Azmin is good as minister or menteri besar but it seems he had not done good enough for the party. PKR needs both of them.

    • Azmin is not vocal. He stays steadfast to the struggle of PKR. His achievements have become somewhat the envy of many.

  • Hopefully during DSAI as prime minister, Rafizi can be made Finance Minister to replace LGE. Malaysia needs a good accountant to lead the Finance Ministry.

    • Good character must come first..not how good his accounting skill is.

    • It doesnt work like that and plus everyone is new and needs to be given a chance from the top man down to the opposition. LGE is a credible individual and has more experience than Rafizi.
