NAJIB Razak has come out swinging against the Pakatan Harapan government again, saying it is using the RM1 trillion debt issue as an excuse not to honour its election manifesto promises and blame shortcomings on the previous government.
“It’s a made-up issue to sell off the country’s assets, reduce or stop social welfare programmes, cancel projects that are not in their constituencies, reopen tenders so that jobs can be given to others and blame BN for the poor economy,” the former prime minister said on Facebook today.
He said Pakatan would continue to play the RM1 trillion debt issue card, even though government agencies had refuted the total sum involved.
“Malaysians should know that the World Bank recently said that Malaysia’s debt was not extraordinary.
“And in the government’s own 11th Malaysia Plan (Midterm Review) report, the Economic Planning Unit said that Malaysia still enjoyed good credit ratings from international agencies based on its stable economy,” Najib wrote.
Since the elections, Najib, who is facing 32 charges over corruption, money laundering and abuse of power, has regularly taken to Facebook to criticise the government.
However, the Pekan MP has not debated or spoken up in Parliament since the election. – October 20, 2018.
