IT’S unbelievable that former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek did not suspect money the party received was “stolen” from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), which was already making the news in 2013, said DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.
“If he didn’t know, it’s fair enough. But if you suspect it’s stolen money, then you must ask (where the money came from),” said Lim after attending the 47 ABIM annual congress at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia in Nilai today.
“He (Dr Chua) said it was (as though he was taking money) from the father (and as such he didn’t suspect). But in this case, he knew because in 2013, the 1MDB case was already a big issue,” Lim told reporters.
Lim was responding to Dr Chua’s comments that the party had no way of knowing that the money it received from former prime minister Najib Razak had come from 1MDB.
Najib, the former Barisan Nasional chairman, is currently facing 32 charges of corruption, money-laundering and abuse of power in connection with money transfers from 1MDB unit, SRC International Sdn Bhd, as well as a sum of RM2.6 billion he said was a donation from Saudi Arabia.
Najib had disbursed RM470 million to BN parties in the 2013 general election, with RM16.5 million going to MCA.
Lim, who is the Iskandar Puteri MP, said MCA, MIC and other former BN component parties should return the money they received to the Treasury.
“This is about RM400 million and they should return the money failing which they can’t talk about integrity,” said Lim. – October 20, 2018.

You are part of the BN coalition and yet you deny knowing where the money came from?!!
First things first, just return the money if you are sincere in helping rebuild this nation that was nearly brought to bankruptcy by the previous administration.
