THE Sarawak Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry said it has not received information from a supplier about the interruption of supply at Petronas-owned fuel stations in the state.

The ministry said in a statement today it was awaiting an official statement from Petronas Dagangan Bhd about the shortage at most of its fuel stations in Sabah and Sarawak.

“Consumers are advised to get their diesel at Shell or Petros (the state-owned oil and gas company) stations,” read the statement.

The ministry said it would check and monitor fuel stations, and urged the public to report activities involving the misappropriation of subsidised diesel to e-aduan.kpdn.gov.my, via WhatsApp at 019-279 4317/019-848 8000, or by calling the 1-800-886-800 hotline.

Yesterday, Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen reportedly said there has been a diesel shortage in the state for the last two weeks, alleging irresponsible parties were using subsidised fuel for industrial purposes, causing the shortage. – Bernama, December 26, 2023.
