THE Road Transport Department (RTD) will conduct “Op Bersepadu JPJ” in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri from April 18 to 27, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.

He said 231 locations across the country have been identified as frequent accident areas or “hotspots” where monitoring will be stepped up.

“If an area has been identified to have frequent accidents, the approach is to have patrol cars to conduct patrols so that drivers will be more careful with the presence of enforcement officers,” he said.

“I hope motorists will obey the traffic rules, especially in Pahang because it is the main route to the east coast from the Klang Valley and millions of vehicles will be passing through it. Besides, we will also implement a ban on heavy vehicles as usual.”

Loke said this at a press conference after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Bentong RTD office in Jalan Chamang, Bentong today.

He also said in addition to this district, two more new RTD buildings are being built, namely in Sarikei, Sarawak, and Muar, Johor. – Bernama, April 11, 2023.
