2,728 new Covid cases, 6 deaths

MALAYSIA logged 2,728 Covid-19 cases, a sharp decline from the 4,684 infections reported the previous day.

The CovidNow website showed that there were six deaths.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 749 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (575) and Sabah (265).

Perak reported 245 cases, Penang (201), Negri Sembilan (146), Johor (116), Kedah (101), Malacca (101), Sarawak (55), Pahang (52), Kelantan (44), Terengganu (33), Putrajaya (30), Perlis (9) and Labuan (6).

The GitHub database showed two deaths were reported in Johor while Perak, Penang, Sabah, and Putrajaya each reported one.

There are currently 1,529 Covid-19 hospitalisations with 16 people in the intensive care unit, while 36 are on ventilators. – August 8, 2022.
