MALAYSIA can learn from the experiences of the Chinese medical experts who had arrived in Malaysia yesterday, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
He said, while the group of eight medical experts will not be helping the local medical team in treating Covid-19 patients, they will be holding discussions to share their experiences in fighting the virus.
“We could have discussions from the point of treatment and education,” Noor Hisham said.
Malaysia, he said, could also learn from the successes and failures of their counterparts from China.
“If it is successful, we can use their method. If it fails, we can learn from it,” he told reporters at his daily press conference.
He said engaging with the experts and learning from their experience of handling cases in the epicentre of the outbreak will help in terms of increasing knowledge of the new virus.
The team was received by Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian and officials from Malaysia’s Health Ministry upon their arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday.
During their two-week stay in Malaysia, they will share experience and expertise on fighting Covid-19 with their Malaysian counterparts, said the Chinese ambassador. – April 19, 2020.
