ACTRESS Ellie Suriati Omar, an ardent supporter of embattled former prime minister Najib Razak, today urged Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi “to stay strong”.
She told Zahid, who was charged with corruption last week, to keep fighting.
“Stay strong (Zahid), stay strong and fight on,” she told the former deputy prime minister as he left the Kuala Lumpur court complex today.
Zahid, who showed up to support Najib, who was this morning charged with six counts of criminal breach of trust related to funds linked to 1Malaysia Development Bhd, told Ellie: “I am going to Parliament now.”
He left an hour after arriving about 9am.
Ellie urged Pakatan Harapan leaders to stop waging a perception war against Umno.
“Our country was in a good state when Barisan Nasional handed over the government to PH.
“The only problem is the perception war against Najib and Umno leaders, including Zahid.”
The actress slammed the charges against Najib and Zahid as “political persecution”, and said supporters of the duo are unfazed.
“We will definitely be here for our Umno leaders, as we know the Amla (anti-money laundering act) charges are due to politics.”
Najib and former Treasury secretary-general Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah were today jointly charged with six counts of CBT, involving more than RM6.63 billion.
They face a combined maximum jail term of 120 years, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
Today’s charges bring to 38 the total number of charges Najib is facing.
The former finance minister was previously charged with 32 counts of CBT, money laundering and abuse of power involving RM2.6 billion said to be 1MDB funds, which he has claimed to be a donation from Saudi Arabia, and RM42 million from former 1MDB unit SRC International Sdn Bhd.
Najib and Irwan were represented by Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, K. Kumaraendran, Geethan Ram Vincent and Harvinderjit Singh.
Najib’s legal team comprises lead counsel Shafee, Harvinderjit, Farhan Read, Wan Aizuddin, Rahmat Hazlan, Muhammad Farhan Shafee and Syahirah Hanapiah.
Special prosecutor Gopal Sri Ram is leading the prosecution. – October 25, 2018.

She is smart too...
So the question that needs to be asked is what are the reasons for her to blindly support the pathetic DUMNO and crooked Najib?
There is always something hidden under the rock, so to speak..
