THE open apology made by Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin in the Dewan Rakyat today should be a lesson to all members of parliament to abide by the rules of the august house.

De facto law minister Liew Vui Keong said the apology also was meant to ensure Bung will not repeat the action.

“Our aim is to ensure our parliament is headed towards a world class parliament where the parliamentarians show professional attitude,” he told reporters at the parliament lobby today.

Liew also said members of parliament should reflect good performance to instil confidence in the people.

“It is because people judge our performance in the Parliament,” said Liew.

Earlier today, Bung Moktar apologised to all MPs for using the F-word in the Dewan Rakyat two months ago.

The motion for his apology was in the Parliament’s order paper today.

Bung Moktar had used the foul word in the Dewan Rakyat during a debate on the Sales Tax Bill 2008 on August 7. – October 18, 2018.
