SABAH lawmaker Bung Moktar Radin today apologised to the Dewan Rakyat for his infamous “F*** you” rant at the last Parliament sitting in August .
The Barisan Nasional Kinabatangan MP, famous for his outbursts in Parliament, said he realised that his behaviour and what he had said were unparliamentary and a violation of House rules.
“I promise this will not happen again. I hope my apology can be accepted in good faith.”
Bung had uttered the F-word at Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin after the latter interjected during the debate on the Sales Tax Bill 2018 and Service Tax Bill 2018.
“What is this? This is rude, retract this. You shouldn’t be here, samseng (thug), what do you want, you want to fight with me?
“F*** you. You messed with the wrong people,” Bung had shouted at Mongin.
His remark caused pandemonium in the House. Several PH MPs demanded that Bung retract what he said.
The Kinabatangan MP retracted his remarks and speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof said there would be no further action against him.

But several days later, Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin moved a motion to refer him to the Parliament’s Rights and Privileges Committee.
Bung’s apology today led Zuraida, who is Ampang MP, to withdraw the motion.
She said she accepts Bung’s apology and hopes the opposition MP can control his emotions in future.
“I believe all MPs here want our Parliament to be world-class. We must have quality debates and not waste time on petty matters.
“The new government is open and has a high tolerance. We should throw out bad habits and uphold the dignity of the House,” the Ampang lawmaker added. – October 18, 2018.
