KLANG, Sandakan, Papar and Tuaran will be subject to a targeted conditional movement-control order (CMCO) from midnight October 9, according to Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Only essential services and approved industries are allowed to operate, and there will be no dining in restaurants.

The minister said the Selangor port city and three districts in Sabah have been identified as Covid-19 red zones and as such will be partially locked down.

“Looking at the increase in Covid-19 cases in these areas, the government has agreed to implement the CMCO starting October 9, 2020.

“The implementation of CMCO is to curb the infection and transmission of Covid-19 in the district as well as to enable targeted case-tracking to be carried out over a period of 14 days.

“Movement in and out of the four CMCO areas is not allowed,” Ismail Sabri said in a press conference today on Facebook live.
