KOTA Baru is the latest red zone to report zero active cases after Rembau and Hilir Perak, according to the Health Ministry.
Because Kelantan’s capital had reported a cumulative total of 90 infections, it was tagged a red zone.
Meanwhile, 77 districts nationwide have reported zero active cases as of noon yesterday.
Four other red zones – Kinta, Sepang, Hulu Langat and Lahad Datu – each reported fewer than 10 active cases.
Nationwide, there are nine districts with active cases in the red zone, down from 13 the previous day.
Sixty-seven cases have reported fewer than 20 active infections.
An area is categorised as a red zone if it reports more than 41 cases, orange zone (20 to 40 cases), yellow zone (one to 19 cases) and green zone (no case).
Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur remained the zone with the highest number of infections for the 25th day in a row.
It reported a cumulative total of 751 cases, of which 289 are still active cases.
The national toll of infections stands at 5,820 at press time, of which 1,764 are active cases.
With no deaths reported as of noon yesterday, the death toll remains at 99. – April 28, 2020.
