MALAYSIA Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) managing director Badlisham Ghazali has been appointed a director on the Airport Council International (ACI) World Governing Board.

In a statement today, MAHB said Badlisham has been a director of ACI’s Regional Asia-Pacific Board since last year.

“The ACI is the only global airport organisation that provides a platform for member organisations to address and promote the collective interests of about 2,000 airports worldwide,” it said.

MAHB said Badlisham was currently attending its general assembly that began yesterday and will end tomorrow, held in conjunction with the 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition.

“As a panellist in the conference, he will share his thoughts on airports’ digital transformation, which has increasingly become an expected and critical element in productivity and passenger service deliverance,” it said.

The airport operator said it has received an award at the event for its contribution in supporting Airport Performance Excellence in safety at other airports.

On his appointment, Badlisham said it was a privilege and an honour to represent Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific in the world body.

“Malaysia has a lot to learn from the global airport community and as one of the world’s largest airport operators, we have a lot to share with them,” he said. – Bernama, October 17, 2017.
