PAS wing leaders today attended the opening of Umno assembly in Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

For the first time since 1977, PAS Youth and Women chiefs, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi and Nuridah Mohd Salleh, respectively, were spotted at the opening of the Umno Wanita and Youth congress.

Khalil was seen in the company of MIC Youth chief Sivarraajh Chandran and Ikatan Youth chief Shahir Adnan.

Conspicuously absent was MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon, who Umno Youth chief Dr Aysraf Wajdi Dusuki said was unable to attend because of an emergency meeting at MCA.

MCA is at odds with Umno over the latter’s wish for a political tie-up with PAS.

Ikatan and PAS, along with Berjasa formed the coalition Gagasan Sejahtera to work together in the last general election.

Umno’s newly elected wing leaders Aysraf  and Noraini Ahmad had attended the opening of the PAS muktamar in Kuala Terengganu two weeks ago.

Similarly, Umno president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob and secretary-general Annuar Musa, and MIC deputy president K. Devamany had also attended the PAS congress on September 15. –  September 29, 2018.
