PUTRAJAYA has appointed Mohd Nageeb Ahmad Abdul Wahab as Felcra Bhd chairman, replacing Bung Moktar Radin, who resigned on June 1 following Barisan Nasional’s defeat in the May 9 general election.

Nageeb will assume the chairmanship of Felcra, an organisation wholly owned by the government to develop rural areas, from October 1, according to a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Nageeb has 39 years’ experience in agriculture fields in the rubber and palm oil industries, according to the statement.

He began his career as an agricultural executive trainer in KL Kepong Bhd in 1979 and is currently chief executive officer of the Malaysia Palm Oil Association (MPOA).

He is also the country’s representative in the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC), which groups the world’s top three rubber producers – Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. – September 27, 2018.
