PKR Youth organising secretary Ahmad Syukri Razab today lodged a report with anti-graft authorities against the political secretary of a minister said to be offering contracts in exchange for support in the ongoing party elections.

Syukri told reporters that the person, who was with a PKR branch in Pahang and is contesting a post in the party’s central committee, had offered a RM20,000 contract to local state leaders and also promised further contracts in the future.

The person allegedly said he is due to receive an allocation of RM300,000 to be used up by year’s end and wanted to distribute it.

“We have evidence in the form of photos of the meeting and audio recordings. This political secretary was the one who chaired the meeting,” Syukri said outside the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya today.

The meeting took place on September 1, he added.

The political secretary is also gunning for the branch chief post in his area, Syukri said, adding he believed that the offers of contracts were made because of the party polls.

He promised to cooperate with MACC in any investigation. – September 25, 2018.
