THERE may be more charges awaiting Najib Razak, who was slapped with 25 counts of corruption and money laundering yesterday.
“Whatever police decide is worth charging him for, that is their business. I’m not interested in it,” said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Putrajaya today.
“But, we know that he did a lot of things that were wrong. Now, we have 25 charges, and I’m told that there are many more.”
He was asked whether the number of charges faced by the former prime minister is excessive.
Najib has been charged with four counts of abusing his power under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act and 21 counts of money laundering. All the charges are related to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal. – September 21, 2018.
