THE Johor Crown Prince, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, claims the government is spying on him and his father, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

In a Facebook post, the prince said he was informed by “officials” that he and his father’s social media pages are being monitored by certain parties using high-tech Israeli intelligence-gathering devices and cybertrooper moles planted on JDT and their personal pages, such as Official Sultan Ibrahim and HRH Crown Prince of Johor.

They were planted there to spy on things that might not go down well with certain higher-ups, he said.

He said “it was not nice” when told of the alleged spying.

The prince, who admitted he is vocal and, therefore, refuses to remain silent, said the alleged spying came to light when he was “recently” approached by “an individual” hoping to sell an “Israel-made” device to spy on people.

The technology assisted the government in its cyber warfare before the general election, he said.

“A few government officials came to me saying that the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), Special Branch, MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and the Prime Minister’s Department have been using it.

“When it comes to national security, I think it is something we need, but these same devices should not be used by individuals for personal gain.”

The prince said he knew the previous Barisan Nasional government used such devices to spy on its people “but this is supposed to be Malaysia Baru – there is no place for such practices any longer”.

He said he is speaking out against the alleged spying “because I love Johor and its people”.

“I will not stay silent if there are parties who are taking the opportunity to split the unity of the unique Johor race.

“I have no problem with the federal government.”

Johor will always support the government if it makes the right decisions, he said, but will not stay silent when wrong ones are made. – September 9, 2018.

  • Will in time to come royalty be gradually phased out like in other countries (e.g.) India, France, as having outlived their time and usefulness?..
