PASIR Salak Umno chief Tajuddin Abdul Rahman is in trouble again, this time becoming the target of social media users for his dismissive remark on the multibillion ringgit 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, “It’s only money”.

Within an hour after his remark was reported in the media this afternoon, Facebook users got online to flay the deputy minister.

None were impressed by the remark, and judging by the tone of the comments, Tajuddin has succeeded in angering many as well as called into question his intelligence and morality.

Hwd P’ng said Tajuddin should have directed the same remark to Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) and his wife.

“Should say that to MO1 and his wife. It is only money, but why keep transferring to your account? It is only money, why don’t you work for zero salary?” the Facebook user wrote.

The US Department of Justice alleges in its civil forfeiture suits that  1MDB funds were channeled into the accounts of MO1 and that money allegedly stolen from the sovereign fund was used to purchase luxury items, including jewellery for MO1’s wife.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan has previously confirmed that MO1 is Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was formerly the 1MDB advisory board chairman. 1MDB was also his brainchild.

Chow Teik Soon commented: “So money is nothing to you?” while Tony Hubag wrote: “Can give me some eh?! I pm (private message) you my a/c (bank account number)?”

Tan Seng Keat blasted Tajuddin for speaking without using his brain, and Iskandar Z. Ghazali called him a moron.

“RM50bil and counting…debts over 1 trillion and ringgit worthless…minister such a complete MORON,” Iskandar wrote.

Azlan Che Mak and Jaafar Malek called Tajuddin an idiot and “bodoh”, respectively.

“Of course it’s only money you idiot, but whose money? It’s obviously not your money because if was, you would’ve been angry to say the least,” Azlan said.

Jaafar wrote: “Bodoh. 1MDB ialah kes curi duit rakyat. Kes jenayah. Kes proton kes kerugian perniagaan. Tak sama bodoh…” (Stupid. 1MDB is a case of stealing the people’s money. A criminal case. Proton’s case is a business loss. Not the same, stupid.)

“Only money. His money is it? Proof that we have clowns as ministers!” another Facebook user Hisham Idris commented.

One James Lim was unimpressed that the deputy minister had failed to acknowledge the alleged wrongdoings, and only thought of money.

“Money?? Is that all they can think of??? It is all about trust, governance, transparency, corruption, CBT etc…” he commented.

Another Facebook user, Christopher Loi wrote: “Only money”... Damn this minister!!! Cronyism must have made him bloody rich to say it is only money!!!”

Tajuddin is no stranger to controversies. Last November, Tajuddin said  that the “the only woman with a Kok is in Seputeh” during a Dewan Rakyat sitting.

The remark, which was deemed misogynistic and insulting, was directed at DAP vice-chairman Teresa Kok, who is Seputeh MP. It caused an uproar in and outside the august house. – July 30, 2017.
