POLICE today questioned Hishamuddin Rais for the second time over his allegedly insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.
The first time he was called up in June, Hishamuddin had told investigators that his blog was hacked.
Speaking to reporters today Hishamuddin, a former ISA detainee, said today’s session was related to the case.
“Today was a continuation to my case in June. I am still investigated under the Sedition Act and the Communications (and Multimedia) Act,” Hishamuddin said.
He said he was disappointed in Pakatan Harapan for its failure to abolish the Sedition Act, and that he would be campaigning against the government for breaking its promise.
“I am disappointed because I am still probed under the law – the law which is supposed to be scrapped as soon as PH took over Putrajaya.”
“PH is not serious about ending the law, I am ready to take to the streets to inform the public that we need to put an end to Sedition Act,” he said at the Dang Wangi district police station.
In June, Hishamuddin denied making seditious posts on his blog regarding the King. He had said that his blog was hacked and that he had been unable to access it for three days, before the general election.
Five Muslim NGOs in Pahang lodged police reports against Hishamuddin, claiming he had uploaded a seditious article on the king.– August 15, 2018.
