MALAY leaders control three parties in Pakatan Harapan (PH) and claims that DAP leads the coalition are untrue, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.

Dr Mahathir, who is PH and Bersatu chairman, said DAP does not have the majority in the coalition and choosing the party to lead would be foolish.

“DAP is not the majority. If we combine PKR and Amanah’s parliamentary and state representatives seats, then they have a bigger majority.

“If they (PH) are foolish, then they will choose DAP. But, they are not foolish like that,” said Mahathir at a press conference at Bersatu office in Petaling Jaya.

The former prime minister was responding to Prime Minister Najib Razak claims that PH was controlled by DAP.

Dr Mahathir said that Najib and Barisan Nasional would continue to say that PH was controlled by DAP.

“Najib and his people don’t know about democracy. They only know about kleptocracy.

“For Najib, he is bigger than all BN and Umno members. That is his system, to be above eveyone.”

Dr Mahathir added that claims DAP had the most seats in PH was not true.

“In Pakatan Rakyat the parties that had the most seats were PAS and PKR.”

Dr Mahathir also reiterated that he was not involved in the 1988 judicial crisis in which Lord President Salleh Abas sacked.

“I have explained this before. It was a complaint coming from the (Yang di-Pertuan) Agong.

“But the attorney-general (Abu Talib Othman) at that time did not want to mention the Agong. Instead, he used my name and gave reasons to the tribunal, which are not even known to me.”

  • Malays control BN. Malays control PH. The debate about which race controls which side does not arise, because the answer is the same, the malays control it.

People want to vote opposition i reckon, not because people want to vote against the malays.
People want to vote for the opposition because it seems, at least for the moment, that the oppposition has better malays.
