FINANCE Minister Lim Guan Eng urged Barisan Nasional senators not to sabotage Putrajaya’s plan to implement the Sales and Service Tax (SST) on its target date, September 1.

He said the decision of the people must be respected as Pakatan Harapan has promised to replace the highly unpopular Goods and Services Tax (GST).

“When you talk about deliberately delaying or sabotaging our programmes so we cannot achieve that surplus that we want through the implementation of SST, I think it’s very devious isn’t it?

“At one hand you say okay we allow you to abolish GST but on the other hand you do not allow us to replace it with SST.

“This is very selfish and an attempt to sabotage and cause failure to our economy programmes,” he told reporters when met at the parliament’s lobby today.

He said Pakatan Harapan government should be allowed to implement programmes that not only benefitting the people but ensuring country’s fiscal finances continued to be sustainable.

“Don’t try to foil or sabotage federal government’s programmes or policies,” he said, adding that the country’s finances would be impacted if SST couldn’t be roll out by September 1.

  • OK, THERE IS A SOLUTION IF BN DOES INDEED SABOTAGE THE SST. DO NOT ABOLISH THE GST YET, UNTIL SST BECOMES LAW..
