THE Health and Women, Family and Community Development ministries will jointly investigate complaints about a department head in a government hospital accused of being a sex predator.

Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said he will meet women’s minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her deputy Hannah Yeoh on the case that was reported by a newspaper.

“We will carry out a detailed investigation to get to the bottom of the case,” Dzulkefly said when met at the Parliament lobby today.

The Amanah lawmaker also said his ministry would make a stand against incidents like these from recurring.

“We are looking at to send a very stern warning against all this toxic behaviour and culture.”

The Star reported yesterday of several complains against an orthopaedics head in a public hospital who allegedly made sexual advances against female medical officers.

The report claimed he preyed on young subordinates as he had the power to approve their housemanships.

One of the victims claimed she lodged a police report last year but no action was taken. – July 30, 2018.
