M. KAYVEAS remains the president of myPPP, the Registrar of Societies said in a letter dated July 10.
Kayveas said today he received the RoS letter clarifying his position.
“The investigation conducted by RoS over the validity of my position is over. RoS has concluded that I am officially the president.
The myPPP saga began when former acting president Maglin D’Cruz and Kayveas held separate meetings within days of each other in May.
Kavyeas said RoS issued a letter on May 18, which stated that he remained myPPP president pending a probe into party-related issues.
D’Cruz, on his part, claimed leadership of the party on the basis that 1,250 delegates appointed him president during the party’s 64th annual general meeting.
At that meeting, members unanimously accepted Kayveas’ sacking and voted that myPPP remain with Barisan Nasional just after the 14th general election.
Kayveas said whatever allegations made against him are not true.
“This is RoS’ decision, and the claims (against me) are not true. RoS has made a decision, and yet, they continue to protest.
“This is just human nature.”
He said RoS has also given them the opportunity to form an interim committee.
“We already have 10 names, and members can nominate them.” – July 19, 2018.
