I'm not even Christian, says Kit Siang of alleged DAP agenda

DAP’s alleged Christianisation agenda is nothing but a lie for mischief makers who want Malaysia to fail as a nation, said Lim Kit Siang.

The DAP veteran leader said it is absurd to think that DAP and himself would want to do away with Islam as the official religion when he is not even a Christian.

“It is really beggars belief that DAP and I want to do away with Islam as the official religion and bring about a Christian Malaysia when I am not even a Christian!”

“DAP’s position on Islam as the official religion is clear and unequivocal, as we have many a time expressed full support for the basic constitutional provisions in the country,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, an Umno Supreme Council member had said that Barisan Nasional’s (BN) failure to secure the government has allowed DAP to control Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to further its Christianisation agenda.

The Umno man claimed that DAP is the party with the most seats in Parliament but it has seven fewer seats than PKR’s 49.

“It’s toxic ‘Najibism’ gone mad – the wild allegation that the Pakatan Harapan government is adopting the DAP’s Christianisation agenda when there is no such agenda in the first place,” Lim said.

He said that it has always been his “life-long political creed” that no political movement in Malaysia should go against any race or religion or even politics.

Lim said the 14th general election had seen Umno inciting toxic politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies with intent to divide Malaysians.

“But there is hope for the future and the success of the Malaysian nation, as GE14 saw the political awakening of the Malaysian voters, including Malay voters, resulting in the diminution of Umno from a party with Malay majority support into one with minority Malay support.

“I have no doubt that if toxic Najibism ‘gone mad’ continues to be the dominant force in Umno, it will see a further dwindling of Malay support in the coming years – as I do not believe Malaysians, whether Malays, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan or Iban, want Malaysia to return to the old politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies just to prop up kleptocracy in Malaysia!,” he said.

He added that in his 53 years of politics, the thought of him being the prime minister of Malaysia had never crossed his mind.

Lim added that it’s absurd to say the appointment of DAP members to be leaders of Parliament and the legal system contributes to its “non-existing Christianisation agenda”. – July 13, 2018.

  • I suggest the police should call Nasrudin in for a chat to clarify his obnoxious statement as it has incited the hatred of one community against another. In fact PH politicians should make a police report against Nasrudin as he has been really rude in his behaviour recently. We do not need politicians like Nasrudin in this country. He should be severely reprimanded and be rejected by the rakyat.

    • Yes, the IGP should be alert and proactive in avoiding potentially unhealthy political situations and csll the council member for questioning!

    • Freedom of speech is one thing but going overboard by inciting racial hatred is a serious matter. PH should lodge a police report and squash the matter in the bud! Before the matter becomes uncontrollable.

  • Nasruddin is a hater. He prospers on hate, feed on it for his own self-worth. In Islam and Christianity it's called the devil, evil itself. Ulama, leader? More like Trash.

  • Our mind can be unstable at times. Like leaves & tree branches being blown by a strong wind this way and that way, so our mind can similarly be affected to spew hate and discord. The practice of progressive meditation can help to rid the unstable mind of impurities like hate, racial & religious discord, etc. Try it to see if it works or not. Do experience it for yourself, & be saved in the process, those of us who need it..
