Taiwanese actress denies receiving money, gifts from Najib's son

Taiwanese actress Celia Zhang has denied receiving money and gifts from Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, the son of former prime minister Najib Razak, and says she had instead treated Mohd Nazifuddin Najib to food and drinks as she was the host of the meeting. – The Malaysian Insight pic, July 7, 2018.

TAIWANESE actress Celia Zhang admitted meeting with Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, the son of former prime minister Najib Razak, but denied receiving any money or gifts from him.

In a statement from her managing agency posted on Facebook today, Zhang said she had instead paid for their food and drinks during the meeting on Thursday in Taiwan.

“I did not take any money or gifts from him. Instead, I treated him to food and drinks as I was the host,” said the post on Facebook written in Chinese.

The statement also denied that Zhang had spent the night with Nazifuddin, saying that she took a taxi home after dropping him off at the hotel at night.

Her agency then said it reserves the right to take legal action against those who have abused her on social media.

The meeting sparked backlash among social media users, who hurled insults at Zhang after news of the meeting went viral, barely 24 hours after Najib posted bail after being charged with corruption on Wednesday.

The backlash reportedly surprised Zhang, who met with Nazifuddin on what seemed to be a date at a high-end steakhouse in Taipei. – July 7, 2018.

  • Look the focus should not be on her but on the guy who was all too happy womanising and jollying while his father's arrest n case was going on. She is not the one in question as she is not under Muslim law. Why not question the guy involved here, why ridicule the beauty when she was treating the beast?

  • Let's not go overboard. He is not the subject of any investigations and why should his lifestyle choices bother us

    • You are right. Unfortunately, being the son of you-know-who he is bound to attract unwanted attention.

  • The Malaysians who donated towards his father's legal fees should take a look at them for being too generouse. Please use that money to feed and educate your children. Be sensible and wise for that matter.

  • UMNO's former leader ( the steward for Islam in Malaysia) is in jail and the son is partying drinking 2 bottles of wine, then hitting the massage parlours. I am wondering if the Malaysian taxpayer funded this ! Semua bolih...is this part of the NEP?
