UMNO’s biggest enemy is the Islamic State (IS), not the opposition, said vice president Hishammuddin Hussein today.
“Rafizi Ramli is not our agenda, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Mohamed Azmin Ali are not our enemies and we have a bigger and much more dangerous enemy.
“Our true agenda is against those who behead people and burn things everywhere,” he said during launching of the Cheras Umno divisional meeting in Kuala Lumpur, today.
Although Malaysia has not experience any threat from IS yet, attacks from the extremist group can still happen, the defence minister said.
“I am not inciting fear but this is the reality. IS is running away now after the military cooperation success between the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. But our worry is where will they go to next,” he said.
Speaking at a press conference after that, Hishammuddin said the opposition do not have the experience to resolve global issues and therefore urged Malaysians to vote for Barisan Nasional (BN), which already has a better “track record” than the opposition.
“What I mean is that if Malaysians had to choose, then they should choose one which already has a good track record. I am not saying that Umno or BN are perfect, but we already have a proven track record.
“That is why when it comes to Daesh or IS, there is no need for the opposition because when an incidents happens they will only make a fuss out it.”
On another issue, Hishammuddin has called on DAP to adhere to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) instruction to hold a fresh party elections again.
He said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng should heed RoS’ instructions instead of claiming the orders had a hidden political agenda.
“I challenge them (DAP) if they have nothing to hide then they should do what RoS has ordered. Don’t blame others for their internal conflicts. Don’t blame Umno and BN, we had nothing to do with it,” he said. – July 9, 2017.
