Anwar rushed to hospital


ANWAR Ibrahim is being rushed to hospital for treatment after being unable to move upon his return from Turkey.

Nurul Izzah Anwar, the daughter of the PKR de facto leader, confirmed that he is being rushed to a nearby hospital.

“Yes, serious,” she told The Malaysian Insight.

A source said Anwar is having difficulty moving due to a recurring back problem.

The former deputy prime minister returned from Turkey at 5pm today.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil, in a statement tonight, said Anwar is on his way to the University Malaya Medical Centre.

He said Anwar is in stable condition.

The Lembah Pantai MP added that Anwar will be hospitalised overnight for observation.

Anwar had surgery on his right shoulder in November last year, following an accident in September.

He was in Turkey to lend support to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is seeking re-election. – June 23, 2018.
