UMNO Youth chief candidate and fugitive Jamal Yunos tonight bragged about his ability to evade the police and said voters at the election for the wing’s leadership tomorrow should chose someone “brave” like him.

“This Umno Youth chief candidate does not talk a lot, but he is brave and does not fear being caught, nor does he fear the many allegations against him.

“Don’t worry because until now he hasn’t be found,” Jamal, who has a warrant of arrest against him for being a public nuisance, said in a video sent to his media WhatsApp group.

The leader of the Red Shirts movement, which had disrupted civil society and opposition demonstrations in the past, is among nine candidates vying for the Umno Youth chief post.

The Youth, Wanita and Puteri wings are holding elections for their office bearers tomorrow.

The Sungai Besar division chief faces three charges – two for trespassing and one for public nuisance after he smashed beer bottles in front of the Selangor state secretariat in Shah Alam in October last year.

Last month, he absconded from a hospital in Ampang where he was held pending completion of his bail proceedings.

He has also failed to turn himself in to the police as requested and has since gone missing. – June 22, 2018.

  • If I am the IGP I would tender my immediate resignation to avoid being asked to resign for failing in my simple task of arresting a simpleton fugitive.Where go face to meet my subordinates if still got any self respect n dignity left.JAMAL has been on the run for so very long n assurances by pdrm that he would be arrested soon failed to materialised.Shame on you better give way to more capable efficient law enforcement officer who I am sure will be able to execute arrest within days

  • Not only did he evaded the police but he also bypassed screening from UMNO as a clean candidate in the upcoming UMNO election.
