Sheridan Mahavera

DESPITE the hammering he has received for being forthright, Lim Guan Eng is resolute he will not tell lies, even white ones, about the country’s finances.

The finance minister believes that in the end, investors and the people will appreciate the new government’s honesty and transparency.

  • Anwar, when you were the FM, did you inform the PM about the "White Rajah"'s financial improprieties? Did you lie and kept them hidden from all Malaysians?

  • Critics think LGE is too political for telling the truth? If it were the US, they would tell China to go to hell with their loans and good luck to collect their loans for the corruptions they were party to in ECRL and other projects.

  • Transparency and openness is the way of Malaysia Baru. Stick to your guns - the rakyat will support you! BN and Jibby have no credibility - in fact Jibby is living on another planet. DSA is starting to lose his credibility.

  • Totally agree w YB LGE. As an upright citizen, I do not want to live under a rock w my head in the sand. If we can’t be truthful to ourselves then what hope do we have to manage our own lives, much less our beloved country .

  • YB LGE, the Rakyat stands solidly behind you for being Truthful as our Finance Minister. These BN bastards have milked us high and dry. As a tax payer for many years, still working and paying taxes, I sincerely hope that all those bloody idiots for treason. Like I understand why China send those corrupted leaders to the firing squds to further save the taxpayers' monies to feed those blokes in jail.

  • Hear hear. Keep it up LGE. You have always been forthright in all that you do. Never ever bend to what others say if you believe in yourself. We respect you more for that.

  • Jho Low is the World Top Halal Financial Advisor of Najib. He should be considered for an Advisory Role. We must also appoint Arul the Best Financial Advisor to Najib. Do not forget Anwar Ibrahim - he is the best Bullshit Financial Genius of Malaysia.

  • Obviously, LGE doesn't know what is professionalism. No wonder he keep his big mouth. Only telling truth in professional way would gain the government credit. Otherwise, people would think that he is playing politics.

  • LGE---- entertain not Anwar or any UmnoBN useless parasites. Go ahed on double drive and get as much evidences to pin down Najib and all his corrupted doings. You will win the war and malaysia will be on her road to glory. Anwar is now realising he has to toe the line and hush up on his non constructive comments. Rakyat is the power to be on his judgement and further silliness will get him back to the slammers if any evidences are related to him. He should know his place in the society.

  • My guess Anwar would appoint Arul as finance minister if he were ever to become PM.

  • This Anwar keeps acting like a smartass recently. He thinks he's smarter than us but he's not. Seems like being out of prison made him too excited and now he starts fooling around like he's already the PM. If he continues to be like that, we might as well give the seat to other more intellectual and calm individual such as Mohamed Azmin Ali. He can sit at his home and do some self-reflection. I fully support the current finance minister's mission. He's doing a good job and he knows what should be done. For example, injecting money into TRX instead of letting it sit there half-developed and abandoned is certainly better. If possible, change the name of the area, we don't want to taint our country with such a disgraceful name :P

  • I think LGE should be careful not to let personal veangeance take over when discharging his duties. Almost everyday for many days now LGE just seems to be obssessed in finding all kinds of dirt from BN era and exposing them in press conferences instead of focussing on the priorities that is required from his role. The rakyat is getting tired of all this and basically we already know there are lots of dirt going on from the past administration. This is why we voted PH. But also do tell the press what you as the FM intend to do and what policies you intend to make to strengthen the country's finances and assure investors and calm the financial market. Dont just do a "tell all the shits from BN" kind of exposé. The public is already getting sick of all this and dont need it to hear all the lurid details. Just get on with the job and get it fixed please!

  • Keep it up LGE. Only the truth will set us free n build trust with investors

  • LGE should not just focus on exposing the shortcomings of the previous govt. day in and day out. The people are bored of hearing all the scandals. Now you are in power tell us your strategy to solve the problems face by the country. That is why you were elected. No body ask you to lie or hide about anything. If what you reveal is in context of some issue which arises that is acceptable but not to trumpet at every instance when journalist approach you. TDM is sure to support you on this because he has to demonise jib in the eyes of the malays. Large majority of the rural malays would not want to see their leaders, past or present, 'jatuh air muka' of their l So you are facilitating TDM in preparing the malay mind for jib's conviction when the time comes. This is exactly what happen when DSAI was framed by TDM and the subsequent rise of reformasi. I hope you have not forgotten your own time in prison apparently for defending a poor malay girl who was a victim of rape by Thambi chik. Don't get very excited and get traped in malay politics.

  • BN is worried that the share market will fall so badly that they lose their dedak investments! There's no channel to make more money, unlike when Najib-Rosmah were in power and gave out dedak to satisfy their elitist lifestyle, leaving rakyat to "kais pagi makan pagi; kais petang, makan petang". Let's turn the table and let them have their share of the same.
