FORMER prime minister Najib Razak, his wife, Rosmah Mansor, and several family members returned to Kuala Lumpur this evening after their holiday in Langkawi.

They left the resort island at 3.30pm aboard a Malaysia Airlines flight, said Langkawi Umno division chief Nawawi Ahmad.

“Slightly delayed from 3pm,” he said in a WhatsApp message to Bernama.

Najib and his family had travelled to Langkawi on Saturday.

A viral social media post claimed that Najib and Rosmah had intended to leave Langkawi for Myanmar, then to China, and finally, Kazakhstan, the home country of their daughter’s husband’s family.

Najib, who is under investigation over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, has been barred from leaving Malaysia, following Barisan Nasional’s defeat in the May 9 polls. – Bernama, June 20, 2018.
