PARTI Warisan Sabah is challenging the results of the May 9 contest for eight seats which went to Barisan Nasional, including those of former chief minister Musa Aman, his brother Anifah, and Sabah Star’s Jeffrey Kitingan.

The eight seats are the Kimanis, Sipitang, Libaran and Keningau federal seats and the Sook, Kundasang, Sungai Sibuga and Kiulu state seats,
Anifah and Kitingan both won by a slim majority, while Musa retained his state seat with a majority that was one-fifth of his winning majority in 2013.
Musa retained his Sungai Sibuga seat with a majority of 2,184 votes against Asmara Abdul Rahman (Warisan). In 2013, Musa’s winning majority was 11,569 votes.
Anifah retained the Kimanis parliamentary seat by a margin of 156 votes. He polled 11,942 votes and his closest challenger, former state minister Karim Bujang (Warisan), 11,786 votes.
Parti Bersatu Sabah’s Joachim Gunsalam won the Kundasang seat with a 255 vote majority, fellow PBS candidate Joniston Bangkuai retained the Kiulu seat with a 1443-vote majority, and BN-PBRS Elron Angin won the Sook seat with a 4,485 vote majority.
Musa’s son, Hafez Musa won the Sipitang seat with 852 votes more than Hayaty Mustapha of Warisan, while Libraran Umno’s Zakaria Edris won the seat with a 678 vote majority against Irwanshah Mustapha.
At Keningau, Warisan’s Jake Nointin lost to Kitingan by a mere 45 votes, polling 13,241 votes to Kitingan’s 13,286, while PBS’ Daniel Kinsik took 12,742 votes. – June 17, 2018.
