THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today raided Kuala Lumpur City Hall headquarters, Menara DBKL, and seized documents in connection with the sale of 64 lots of DBKL land worth RM4.28 billion.

A source said the commission began its probe into the cases last month and that the seizure of the documents was to facilitate the investigation.

“Among the seized documents were those from the Economic Planning and Development Department,” said the source.

The documents were then taken to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya .

It is learnt that the raid, involving seven MACC officers, in Jalan Raja Laut began about 10.30am.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki confirmed the raid but refused to divulge any detail.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng lodged a report with the commission on May 16 claiming that DBKL sold the 64 lots of land, involving 171.7ha, without any open tender to Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan between 2013 and this year. 

Former Federal Territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was accused of approving the sale. – Bernama, June 5, 2018.
