UMNO treasurer Salleh Said Keruak will be taking over the work of Sabah Umno liaison chief to allow the state liaison chief, Musa Aman, to focus on his court case, the party’s acting deputy president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said today.

Embattled Musa is claiming he is the legitimate Sabah chief minister and has named Head of State Juhar Mahiruddin and rival Parti Warisan Sabah head Mohd Shafie Apdal as defendants.

“Salleh will be carrying out the duties of state liaison chief, as Musa will have to focus on the court case.

“This is the decision we made today,” Zahid told reporters after chairing a closed-door meeting here.

Musa had gone missing since May 14 and was last seen taking a Malindo flight from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur.

He filed his suit on May 17, which is scheduled to be heard in court on June 19.

The authorities, including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, are presently tracking down Musa over an alleged criminal intimidation police report lodged by Juhar.

MACC is believed to be searching for Musa following viral social media claims that he had induced Star’s Jeffrey Kitingan with RM20 million to align his party with Barisan Nasional.

Star was kingmaker, after BN and Warisan-Pakatan Harapan were tied with 29 seats each. – June 4, 2018.
