DBKL to scrap RM1 billion in projects

THE Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will terminate 10 projects worth RM1 billion, said Mayor Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz.

Amin said these included projects not yet open for tender, but did not provide further details.

“DBKL has decided to reduce the number of these projects, which include roads and parking projects, and will also scrap sports club projects,” Bernama reported him as saying after attending a meeting with the Council of Eminent Persons at Ilham Tower in Kuala Lumpur today.

Residents in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Bangsar, Taman Desa, and Titiwangsa have protested against residential, commercial. and mixed development projects in their neighbourhoods.

It is not known whether the shelved projects involved the ones the residents had opposed. – June 4, 2018.
