FORMER prime minister Najib Razak’ vehicle was seen leaving his Jalan Langgak Duta home along with an escort car at 10am.

Najib’s white Toyota Alphard left the house escorted by a Mercedes Benz.

However, it is not known where the former premier was headed.

There was no sign of the police outriders normally accorded to top government officials and former prime ministers.

Some of these privileges   removed following the investigation carried out against Najib.

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad told the media a few days ago that there will no special privileges given to Najib.

“But if he’s found innocent, he will get the same treatment as other former prime ministers,” said Dr Mahathir after terawih prayers and breaking his fast with police at Bukit Aman on May 29.

He said this in response to Najib’s Facebook post that his police and security details have been revoked by the federal government.

Najib said he finally bid farewell to his special police escorts, special task force officers, and other officers who had provided security at his home and the prime minister’s official residence, Seri Perdana.

Najib is currently being investigated by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission over the RM2.6 billion deposited into his two personal bank accounts and the RM42 million involving SRC International the former subsidiary of the troubled state investment arm 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

His wife Rosmah Mansor has also received a notice from MACC on Friday ordering her to give statement at the MACC headquarters at 11am on Tuesday.

The statement recording is in relation to SRC International probe. – June 2, 2018.
