ROSMAH Mansor has been asked to assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its SRC international probe, more than a week after her husband, ex-prime minister Najib Razak was questioned. 

Sources said MACC officers sent her a notice today to turn up for questioning at 11am next Tuesday at its Putrajaya headquarters. 

The notice was delivered by a squad of MACC officers at Najib’s private residence at the leafy Jalan Langgak Duta cul-de-sac at 4pm. 

The officers were seen leaving at 5.30pm with a bag containing documents seized from the residence. 

The couple’s fall from grace came days after Najib became the first sitting Malaysian prime minister to lose a general election on May 9. His house and several apartments linked to his family were raided with police carting away 72 luggage bags and 284 handbag boxes.

Police have estimated the cash at RM114 million in 26 currencies. 

Three years ago, Najib was investigated over allegations that he received stolen 1Malaysia Development Bhd money – RM42 million that was funnelled from SRC International and US$731 million (RM2.6 billion) from Tanore Finance Corp.

The RM42 million was illegally transferred into his personal bank account at AmBank.

MACC opened investigation papers into SRC International in 2015 but was stymied after then attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail was sacked. – June 1, 2018.
