THE sales and services tax, replacing the goods and services tax, will be implemented starting September 1, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.
He said SST’s quantum and percentage are being studied, and will be announced later.
Prior to the implementation of GST, the government had fixed the SST rate at 10%.
Pakatan Harapan, in its election manifesto, promised that it will scrap the unpopular GST.
The consumption tax will be zero-rated beginning Friday. β May 30, 2018.
