RAJ’S Banana Leaf in Bangsar has been shut down by authorities, said Kuala Lumpur Mayor Mhd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz today.

This comes after a video of the eatery’s workers washing plates in dirty, stagnant water went viral yesterday.

The closure is to allow for inspection by health officials.

“Already shut down,” said Amin in a text message to The Malaysian Insight.

The restaurant’s management yesterday issued an apology on Facebook, saying the incident “has never happened before, and should not have happened”.

However, it did not say when the incident took place.

Amin yesterday said the eatery will remain closed until it adheres to all of Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s regulations. – May 30, 2018.
