India trip achieved govt objective, says PM

PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim said his trip to India had achieved its objective, with both countries agreeing to upgrade their relations to the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The prime minister said on his Facebook page that the visit managed to achieve potential trade of RM8 billion in palm oil-based products, chemical materials, oil and gas, and aircraft spare parts. 

Anwar said he had deep and transparent discussions with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked the Indian government as well as the various ministries, government agencies, and the High Commissioner for a successful visit. 

Anwar arrived in the Indian capital of New Delhi on Monday for a three-day official visit to strengthen 67-year-old India-Malaysia ties and establish a multi-sectoral cooperation agenda for the future. – August 22, 2024.

    Unlike a certain former PM who due to his ultra-racist "ketuanan" mindset refused to participate in China's rise to the detriment of Malaysia.
