A 26-YEAR-OLD policeman was charged at the Kuala Kubu Baru magistrate’s court today with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, whose body was found in a Felda settlement in Hulu Selangor 11 days ago.

The charge against Muhammad Alif Monjani, a lance corporal, was read before Sessions Court judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza, who sat as magistrate for the proceedings.

No plea was taken as murder cases are under the jurisdiction of the High Court. The matter will now be transferred to a High Court where his plea will be taken.

The court set August 30 for mention.

He is charged with murdering Nur Farah Kartini, 25, a Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris graduate, at Ladang SKC Keledang in the Hulu Bernam subdistrict in Hulu Selangor.

He allegedly committed the offence between 9am on July 10 to 6pm on July 15.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty.
