SIX more Malaysian pilgrims have died in Mecca, taking the total number of deaths this season to 14, Religious Affairs Minister Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said
Na’im said most of the deaths were due to heart disease, pneumonia, and blood infection.
“The Saudi Arabian hospital and Tabung Haji staff have helped the next of kin of the deceased there and informed their next of kin in Malaysia.
“On behalf of the TH management, I would like to express my condolences to the next of kin of pilgrims who died in Mecca. Together we pray that their souls will be placed among those who do good deeds,” he said last night.
At the same time, 93 Malaysian pilgrims were being treated in hospitals. Among these, two were in critical condition in King AbdulAziz Hospital and 82 receiving treatment in TH Makkah Treatment Centre.
He said most of the cases involved respiratory problems because of the hot and dry weather. – June 20, 2024.
