TANJONG Karang MP Zulkafperi Hanapi and Selat Klang assemblyman Abdul Rashid Asari have lost their Bersatu membership for taking part in the Pakatan Harapan campaign for Kuala Kubu Baharu.

Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin said the duo would receive their letters of termination next week.

He said the duo must now give up the seats that they won on the party ticket.

“They spoke on the PH stage during the Kuala Kubu Baharu campaign. Based on our (Bersatu) constitution, their membership is automatically terminated,” Hamzah said at a Perikatan Nasional (PN) ceramah last night in Selangor.

“They have ceased to be party members, so as per the (anti-party hopping) law, they must also relinquish their seats.” – May 9, 2024.
