MALAYSIA is ready to work with Qatar and other countries in bringing medical aid to Palestinians injured in the Israel-Hamas war, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.

He made the pledge yesterday to Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Abdulrahman Jassim Al Thani in a meeting  on the sidelines of the special World Economic Forum (WEF) in Riyadh, Bernama reported.

During the meeting, Anwar thanked Qatar for helping to get a Malaysian, Nurul Ain Haron, out of Gaza safely in November last year.

Nurul Ain, together with her Palestinian husband Mohamed AM Shaat, arrived in Malaysia the same month after fleeing the conflict area through the Rafah border.

Anwar said Malaysia was sending humanitarian support to Gaza and had flown 100 tonnes of essential goods to the people there.

He informed his counterpart that he would be visiting Doha to attend the Qatar Economic Forum scheduled in the middle of next month.

The two leaders also spoke about boosting the US$910 million (RM4.34 billion) trade between the two countries. – April 30, 2024.
