Telco, tech figures join DNB board


DIGITAL Nasional Bhd (DNB) appointed five new board members comprising leaders in the telecommunications and technology industry, effective yesterday.

In a statement today, the special purpose vehicle company said this followed the share subscription agreements signed between DNB, the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, and five mobile network operators on December 1.

The new board members, as well as their “alternate directors”, join other two incumbent members, Johan Mahmood Merican and Ma Sivanesan.

They are Kamal Khalid (CelcomDigi), KV Uthaya Kumar (Maxis Broadband), Chang Yit Fei (U Mobile) Nik Azli Abu Zahar (Telekom Malaysia) and Yeoh Seok Hong (YTL Power International).

The “alternate directors” from U Mobile, Telekom Malaysia and YTL Power International are Tan Kok Leong, Tajul Sultan, and Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek, respectively.

DNB said it looked forward to obtaining valuable input and direction from the newly constituted board in driving the advancement of Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and the adoption of 5G technology across industries, enterprises, the public sector and consumers. – April 25, 2024.
